I had a fantastic time at the NAMM Show this year working with my new client, Hong Kong based music technology manufacturer Icon Global. Yes, the weather in Cali was much nicer than the chilly grey of Detroit. But I also got to hang with a bunch of old friends, and make a few new ones, all while surrounded by thousands of professionals who are passionate about music.
It was an exciting week for my client as well, highlighted by a visit from one of Michigan’s favorite sons… Check out my report HERE.
Nice… jessica Care moore dropped a video of my favorite song from the album we recorded, “Black Tea: The Legend of Jessi James“. Aside from Kris Johnson’s brilliant trumpet work, this was recorded mostly live in the Metroplex Room at Submerge on a whirlwind day of tracking. I love the groove Jon Dixon, Ben Luttermoser and Nate Winn locked into. Alicia Renee aka Blue eyes and jessica were sequestered in the vocal booth. It was a bit chaotic, but tons of fun. This was the first song we tracked, and it set the tone for the magic that would follow.
I have no idea what made my wife, Akanke, think this was a good idea, but I’m curious to see what they come up with…
